Hi bloggers! Today I am going to write about Anzac. Rael, my mum and I baked Anzac biscuts. Rael and I made poppies and a cross. On Anzac day my family and I woke up early and put something warm on. We stood on the driveway to listen to the memorial song on the radio at 6 o'clock.
Have a good weekend.

Hi Josie,
ReplyDeleteYou did lots to commemorate this special day. We had ANZAC biscuits at our house too. James and Mrs Riceman cooked them. We also put some poppies up in our window for people walking past to see. I enjoyed reading your poem too. Did you go back to sleep after getting up early? Thanks for sharing your ANZAC day experience.
Thanks! Mr Riceman
DeleteHi Josie, like so many of us, your family remembered those who went to war and fought for our freedom. It was a very different ANZAC day this year but many New Zealanders standing at their gate at sunrise was very special and a wonderful way to remember and show how grateful we all are. The cross and poppies in the pot was a good reminder.
ReplyDeleteHave you ever been to an ANZAC service?
Keep up the superb work and remember to keep those blog posts coming!
Thank you miss Paterson.
DeleteHi Josie
ReplyDeleteWhat a great blog post to include photos and writing. ANZAC Day which has just past will be a day I think we will all remember because of not being able to attend an ANZAC Service.
I like what you created for ANZAC Day. It also looked rather chilly standing out on the edge of your driveway in the early morning. Did you manage to read any stories about ANZAC Day?
I have put a link below for the picture book 'ANZAC Ted' which you might enjoy.

Keep safe in your bubble.
Kia Ora Josie,
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing all of the things you did to commemorate ANZAC day. We did the same as you, got up early and dressed in warm clothes, then walked down to the bottom of the driveway to listen to the ANZAC service on the radio station. We were joined by one set of neighbours, and we stood at an appropriate distance from each other. I remember taking Travis to an ANZAC service at the May Road Memorial Hall a few years ago - does he remember?
Unfortunately, we didn't have any ANZAC biscuits in our house. Do you know, I have never known ANZAC biscuits nicer than Ms Sands' ones that she makes. But so many of you have been baking during this lock down and level 3 time, that I would be happy to do a tasty session when things return to normal.
Keep up the awesome work Josie, your poem was super and your artwork too. I'll look forward to your next blog post. :-)
I meant 'tasting' session for the biscuits - just goes to show, we all need to proof-read before we post :-)
DeleteH Josie I really liked how you wrote about the syllables. have a nice day!
ReplyDeleteThank you Reneem.
DeleteYou welcome.
