I think a fable is a story that is short. Another thing is that something's teaches us a lesson that is moral and good. I think a fable features some sea and land animals as the main character.

My Birthday In school holidays

Kia Ora bloggers. Today I am going to write about my 10th Birthday party in the holidays.

My dad, brother, sister woke up early to sing Happy birthday to me in me and my sisters room. I was too tired that I couldn't move my body.
I was wandering where my mum was and my dad said she went to countdown to buy some yummy food for my birthday. For breakfast I had toast. Finally my mum came back and she walked up the stairs and unlocked the door with lots of shopping. When she came in the house I said 'Mum you're back' and she hugged me and said 'Happy birthday Josie'. 

 

My sister, mum and dad grabbed the shopping out of the shopping bag and placed it on the bench. After that my sister had to help my mum pack food. So my sister helped my mum pack everything and I came in the kitchen and there were yummy food. After we were all ready we had to take the stuff in our car. Me, my mum, dad and my sister drove to the beach. It was a sunny day.

Zara come out of a blue car her dad and herself walked up to me and my mum and I was waiting next to the car. My mum said 'Josie come here'. So I came next to my mum and my friend Zara came up to me and gave a box of chocolates that was called Roses. When she gave it to me I said 'Thank you Zara'. I felt happy to see Zara because I didn't see her in a long time. 

Zara and I played in the sand, made sandcastles, played on the  playground, looked for crabs and shells. We dug a deep hole in the sand and tipped water in it, we put the crabs in to make soup. Also we played with the swing ball set. Then we ate lunch together. My sister had to look out for Maddison because my mum invited her to come to my birthday so she could play with Rael. Instead of a cake we got cupcakes to celebrate with a candle on top of my cupcake. I felt very Joyful. What did you do in the holidays?

My Marble Run

Kia Ora bloggers, today I am going to write about my marble run.

My task was to create a marble run using different things in your house.I had an idea. My mum and dad helped me grab some things to create my marble run. I used 2 wrapping paper rolls, plastic bottle, sellotape, noodle, milk bottle, bird door stops, washing line, washing liquid bottle, egg holder and string.

It was hard for me making the marble run because I had to try and stick things together. My mum and dad helped me. It took me multiple times trying to roll the marble into the egg holder. I was joyful when the marble rolled in the egg holder.

My Beach Ball Trickshot

 Kia Ora bloggers, Today I am going to write about my beach ball trickshots.

 1. My task was to create a trickshot with my beach ball and we were allowed to do how many punches up in the air.

 2. Me and my brother were thinking of an idea of what trickshot we could make. So we decided for me to try and shoot my beach ball into my brothers washing basket.

 3. So my brother got his phone and he recorded me trying to shoot the ball into the washing basket. We finished the video and I watched the video and I was happy with it.

 4. We finished our first video. Now it was our second. So my next video was to try and hit the beach ball with my hand into the washing basket.

5. My brother recorded me shooting the ball in the washing basket with my hand. I shot it first. Again I watched the video and I was happy with it again. 

6. My brother decided to put the 2 videos together, and he did. So he showed me them together and I watched it and it was cool.

7. I had 1 more video to do, that was the punching one up high. My goal was to beat Ms Sands 9 hits. So I did that and I 22 hits. 

8. Last of all I watched the video again and I still liked it. My brother added backround music to the 2 video's that were together. 'What have you been doing in lockdown?

My Paralympian Reading DLO

Reading DLO!

Kia ora bloggers. Today I am gonna write about my Paralympian 

Reading DLO. 

 1. My task was to make a DLO and I had to pick a Paralympian athlete that was in the Olympics and my Paralympian's name was Amanda Cameron that did Para Cycling. 

 

2. I had to find some facts about her and then write it in my own words. Did you know that Amanda was part of the New Zealand team that won a stunning 21 medals across 12 individual medallists in 2016? 

I found the imformation on Athlete Profiles Archive. I couldn't find a photo of her because when I went on google and I typed in her name it showed different people. In the olympics people have there full bodies. In the paralympics people have disabilities. Have you been watching the Tokyo paralympics?

Making Home Made Pies

Home Made Pies!

 Kia ora bloggers. Me and my family made some home made pies.

 1. My Dad and my Mum cooked the mince and my dad held a bowl down on the pastry and I cut around it and it made a circle. 

2. My mum, sister, and my brother lined the ramekins with the pastry and all of us filled it with mince.

  3. We put graded cheese on the mince and we put leftover mash potatoes on top of the cheese.

  4. Then we all put all the graded cheese on top of the mashed potatoes. To me the home made pies were delicious and yummy. I am eating my second pie now. What have you been cooking at home?

Swimming at Cameron pools

 Kia ora bloggers on thursday the 13th of may me and my class went to Cameron pools. We go to Cameron pools on Tuesdays and Thursdays. First we had to go get our lunch and get our togs too. After that we had to sit on the court and eat our lunch and once we had finished eating lunch we had to put our lunch away and then go play. When we had to go we lined up and walked to the school bus. We were at Cameron pools and we had to get changed into our togs. After we got changed into our togs. When we got changd into our togs we had to sit on a seat. It was Hauraki's turn to swim. I was in a group with kids. When I went in the pool it was warm but a bit cold. We did Backstrock, freestyle and then we did dolphin kicks. A while later we had to get out of the pool because it was a different class who had to swim. So we got changed and then we had to get out of the changing room. It was hard to get changed for me. After we finished changing we had to line up. So we were finished and we walked to the bus and then we were at school then we had to get our bag and shoes. Bye bloggers.

 

Waikowhai student led toolkits

Kia ora bloggers, Last Friday I went to Toolkits and I had to get my chromebook and a paper that with writing on it to our First, second and third toolkit. So I went to Haumia and Me and Zara were presenting. First we waited for some of the people to come in. After they came in Me and Zara were getting ready to present. We were presenting Piskel. So we presented and I read the first slide and then Zara read the second slide. When we finished presenting we told the students that they were allowed to make a Piskel on there chromebook. Me and Zara played a 15 minute timer. 

Secondly we presented again because it said on our piece of paper. But different people came in Haumia. We presented again but there was a 5 minute timer this time and we told that they could make it and Zara told them that we had some hacks they could do.

Lastly I stayed in Haumia because Kiani and Lily were presenting Incredibox. They waited till other students to come inside. When they all came inside they were gonna present now. We had to listen to them and after they finished presenting they told us that we can play and they put a 15 minute timer on.

After that day I felt Happy.

'What is happening for NZ at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021?

 Kia ora bloggers, When the olympics started when started out own DLO. We started a DLO at the start of the term. We had to make a google drawing and we had to name our title. And after that we had to stick with a focusing question and type it in to our DlO Drawing. We also had to write about outr question and answer the question. Also I had to add facts and I had to write 'What is happening for NZ at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021. And we got to write one or more facts about our question. Also we were allowed to add different kinds of facts. When I finished My question I had to re-read it. And also added different pictures of the people that went to the olympics in the olden days. Procedural Writing Game

Procedural Writing

Kia ora bloggers, today I am going to tell you about my procedural writing game. The game I chose to write about is called Snakes and Ladders. First Te Waka Ako and I had to go on the site and had to find the work we had to do which was procedural writing. We had to click that and then make a copy and file it in our writing folder. After we filed it we had to think of a game and then we had to write it on  our Title. Also we had to write our goal and our equipment that we needed. When we finished writing our goal and equipment we had to write steps of our game we chose. After that we had to go on a new doc and write on it our steps that we did.

I am going to teach you how to play my game which is Snakes and Ladders. First you find the board game in the classroom or in your house and then you set it up somewhere. Also you take the cover off and you put it anywhere in the class or in your house and take the board game out and put your character or your counter on the start. And then you get the dice and one person rolls the dice and then they move there counter or character if one person reaches the end you can still carry on playing until all the players are done. Year 5 Day!

Kia ora bloggers, On Monday the 17th of may the Year 5s spent time with Miss McGrath because the Year 6s went on a trip to Spark Arena. I was excited to do something fun with Miss McGrath. The Year 6s had to be early to school because they were leaving at 9:00. 

First we had to sit on the carpet and then Miss McGrath talked about the wellbeing survey. We had a discussion, like when we go swimming we can't wear dangling earings, because they can get stuck to your hair. Later on we had to get in a circle and Miss McGrath sat on a chair and picked someone to say a nice statement about someone. Also after we were done we had to get our chromebooks out and write a blog about what we did today. 

After that she told us to sit on a table and wait till we got a piece of hard paper. So when we got a piece of paper we had to listen to Miss McGraths instructions because we were going to make a Fortune Teller. 

When we finished making it we had to colour these 4 squares different colours and then write a number. Also after we wrote the number we had to write a positive statement on our fortune teller. After we had to sit on the carpet with our fortune teller. 

After that we had to stand up and walk around the classroom and Miss McGrath played music and once she stopped the music we had to turn to a buddy and say to them what we are grateful for.

Then Miss McGrath talked about something but I forgot what she was talking about, so after she talked about something, she told us to put our fortune teller in our box and then she told us to go get a book to read. Miss McGrath told us to put our book away and sit on the mat. She told us to go on our chromebook and finish some work. When we finished our work we had to put our chromebook away and then wait till the year 6s come back.This is my friends Fortune teller. Bye bloggers.

Under the wires day

Under The Wires 

Kia ora bloggers, On the 14th of April we had Under the Wires day! The reason was because we have been learning about Anzac Day. So the teachers decided to put loads of strings. When I arrived at school I saw kids waiting outside the classroom sliding door. My friends said the all of us weren't allowed inside because it was a surprise. My friend said the the teachers in Te Waka Ako was wearing black and paint on there face. After I looked under the blind inside and then I Saw the strings. I was wondering what we were gonna do inside the classroom. The bell rang and I went in the classroom and sat down on the mat with the other classes in Te Waka Ako. I saw the strings only in Waitemata and Hauraki. The teachers told Hauraki to get our Art book and crawl under the strings. I found a spot where I can sit. I sat with my friends. The teachers made the gun shooting from their phone. It sounded scary for me. When we were under the strings we had to do learning while we were under the strings. One of my friends wasn't scared. But I was scared. The teachers were distracting us while we were doing our work. All the teachers in Te Waka Ako had fake guns to shoot one of us. I was doing my work under the strings and my arms were tired and my elbow was sore because I was leaning on it. They played the gun shooting from a speaker. We weren't allowed to talk. 

My letter home

After a while we had to write a letter to our Mum or Dad or our family from the war. I wrote a letter to my family.

A while later we had to find a buddy. After we found a buddy we had to get a blind fold. And then we had to find a stick on a table and stay there. When we already found a spot we had to make a decision. One of us had to put a blind fold on. Also we had to wind the string up with the stick. And also we had to take turns. Bye bloggers. 

Netball

Kia ora bloggers. In netball practise we had to split into 2 teams. My best friend was not on my team she was on the other team. My teacher was Mrs Jones. We practised shooting and doing netball passes. Also we played a game of netball. While passing to each other in our own team. When you're near the hoop you shoot the netball. We played a couple of rounds. The other team won and then we won. When you are holding the ball you stop with it and then you move your right foot and try to pass it to someone. One of the people in my team passed to each other and then we try to shoot the netball in the hoop. Some of the people in the other team was blocking us when we tried to pass the netball. I liked netball because it is my favourite sport and also it's my friends favourite sport. My other friend didn't join because she came when the bell rang and the papers had to be handed in while the bell rang. Bye bloggers.

Fancy or Freaky.

Kia ora bloggers, In lockdown we did a google meet and we had to wear fancy or freaky clothes. The whole class was there and all the teachers were there to. I went to the google meet because it was fun.    When I went to the google meet I did freaky. Also I did my hairstyle freaky. We played a game but I didn't know what the name was it called. We had to look carefully into a container that had objectes. It had a dice, cork, pen, batteries, scissors. And then one of the teachers took away one and then we had to type the answer on the chat. Some of the people got the object right. I couldn't answer it because it was a bit hard for me. When a person go it right we had another round. I forgot what was in the container. Some of us wrote the same answer. After that we moved onto cetificetes. Peoples names got called out from the teachers. Bye bloggers.

                                                       
 

Lockdown diary

Lockdown diary

Kia ora bloggers. I feel good today because im at school. I also dont like lockdown because I dont get to go school and that we cant go to places. My favorite activity was lockdown creations because I got to do a task then I screenshot it and then paste it to the slides and after you screenshoted it you have to add a link to it. I feel happy at school because i get to see my friends and my teachers. And I also feel excited because I get to do lots of tasks at school. Some of the activites were a bit hard because I couldn't solve out problems and questions. Another task I liked was how kiwi saved the forest. It was a good story to read.
