Lego workshop

Kia ora bloggers on the 18th of November we went to the hall at Waikowhai Primary School to make buildings with Lego. Then we went to sit down on the carpet in the hall. After that Clare showed us what Vanessa made with her kids. Then Vanessa and Clare showed examples of what they made. They showed us what was on the tables there were stars, spaceships, planet, farm and zoo. My group was Zara, Vivian and Darcey - Rose. We went to the first table with stars on it. After that Clare and Vanessa stopped us because we had to move to another table. Clare pointed to where we had to go for our next table. So she pointed to the table that had a mini workshop. So I started making my mini workshop and there were cupboards, taps, drawers, cups and cabinets. There were little lego pieces to hold the tools. I was already finished. Clare and Vanessa stopped us again and then Clare said we could choose which table we can go to. So me and Zara went to the farm lego. Zara (my friend) was making a mini farm with 2 brown and white dogs, and a white cow with a lady milking the cow. I was making a farm with 3 pigs and 4 cows that was white and black. I made the farm with grey lego pieces and brown. I made a fence for the cows and the pigs. After I built the farm I looked for other pieces to build another farm. I found a lego lady that I was going to put on the cow. Then Clare and Vanessa stopped us because we had to pack up. So we packed up and then we walked to sit on the carpet. Then Vanessa and Clare grabbed a lego creation that we made and they get a prize of what they made. So someone named Londyn got a prize because she made a good lego creation and she had a choice if she would like to pick  3 hearts lego or a poster. And she pick the 3 hearts. The other person who got a prize was named Lily because she made a mini workshop space. Vanessa gave Lily the poster. Then the last person who got a prize was a boy named Tyler. Tyler got a minecraft character. So after the prizes was finished Vanessa gave Mr Riceman our teacher stickers. And then we stood up and lined up in a line. After that we walked to the classroom. Mangere Mountain

Kia ora bloggers on the 16th of November Kaiwhare class went to Mangere mountain. There were parents who came and grandparents. We went to mangere mountain to learn about plants and tea. First we grabbed our bags and made sure we had a water bottle, hat and a big lunch. Second we walked to sit on the netball court because our teachers had to call out the roll. Thirdly we went to go inside the bus and when the bus driver started driving the bus we sang a maori song. There were two big busses one for Mokoroa and Kaiwhare and one for Haumia but some of the Mokoroa people went with haumia. Kaiwhare and mokoroa came with us on the bus. Fourth we got off the bus and walked to Mangere Mountain. There was two ladies named Ellie and Leilani. Ellie was the one who greeted us. Leilani was the one who was waiting for us in the big hall. So we walked inside the big hall and sat down on a carpet. Then Leilani said a karakia. Then Mr Riceman said a karakia. After that we stood up and sang our waiata. The people who said Toru wha was the people who were in kapa haka. When we finished our waiata we sat back down. After that we had morning tea and put sunscreen on and hand sanitiser. When we finished our morning tea. We got into groups and I was with Fyumi and my friend came with me in my group. Then we lined up behind our adults. And some of the people was with Leilani and Ellie. My group was with Ellie. Then Ellie walked us up to the mountain. I was very hot. We all brang our drink bottles incase we get thirsty. There were two water fountains near the hall and near the carpark. Then we were on the mountain still walking and then we stopped to have a little break. After our break Ellie said that there were two trees on a huge mountain. So we walked where the two trees were and then we stopped and crouded around a rock that had like a wave patteren. After we looked at the rock we kept walking till we stopped at a good view and when I looked down I felt scared because I didn't want to walk down the big mountain. So after we looked at the good view Mr Riceman took his group and my group. We walked to a triangle wich was shaped as a cone. And Leiani took her group somewhere. So when we finished looking at the cone we walked back. Leilani walked back after us. So after that we looked at a rock that had a kumara picture. After we looked at the rock we walked back to the big hall. So when we got back to the hall we got to do workshops. Leilani was in the hall and Ellie was outside with Kaiwhare and Mokoroa to do the workshops. So the work shops were weaving scraping a rock on a massive rock with water in it also scraping a shell onto a piece of wood. So first my group did weaving. Then we went to scrape a rock onto a massive rock. Thirdly we went to scrape the shell onto the piece of wood. After that we went inside the hall and drank tea and went outside to look at flax and other trees. After that we packed our bags to get ready to go in the bus. When the bus driver was going to drive to school I fell asleep in the bus and people tried to wake me up. So when we arrived to school Mr Riceman woke me up. Bye bloggers.

Jasmine and Aladdin Production

Kia ora bloggers at Waikowhai Intermidate hall we did production. In the first week of November we held our five performances of Jasmine and Aladdin at the Waikowhai Intermediate school hall every two years. Adults and Granparents came to watch our performance. We do it every two years. We did it because it is fun.

It was time to come up. Miss Lane beckoned her hand. I felt nervous because I felt something funny in my tummy. When we walked onto the stage I saw the lights going dim. The lights were so bright. Also the lights hurt my eyes. We were dancing and people were clapping for us. People were cheering for us too. I walked off the stage and people high fived our hands. I enjoyed the dance because it was fun. I was with Kaiwhare class. We wore different kinds of costumes. Bye bloggers. THE END.

Making a fale

my own fale
Talofa lava bloggers. This week is samoa language week. Today I am going to write about a fale. A fale is a house. It doesn't have windows, walls and doors. I made a fale in class. I used cardboard, hot glue gun, tape, scissors and dape.
1.  I cut 6 lines on the dape with scissors.
2.  I put the strips of cardboard into the lines. These are poles.
3.  I got a long thin strip of cardboard and I taped it on the poles.
4.  I made a roof with cardboard and I hot glued it to the poles.
5.  I was able to bring it home. I taped white strips of paper on the roof.

Fa bloggers. This means goodbye in samoa.

Math strategy/Math art - Probability Quilt

Hi everyone. My favourite piece of online learning today was maths. Mr Riceman drew a Probability Quilt and I had to do investigating.

I had to create my own probability quilt. This is what I used, a dice, ruler, pencil, maths book, and colour pencils. If you want to see the video of how to create your own probability quilt here is the Link  I liked rolling the dice, writing the numbers, drawing the shapes and looking at the pattern.
Bye!

Lockdown experence - Hitting the ball.

Hi bloggers. We go to Keith hay park. We go for a walk, play with the frisbee, play soccer, jog, and hit the tennis ball up high with a tennis racket. I like hitting the ball up high. When I hit the ball up high the others have to catch it. We play this at the park because there is more space. We dont play on the playground because of the germs and the lockdown.

Be kind, be helpful, be respectful, be responsible. Bye.

Chocolate chip cookies.

One day me and the girls baked chocolate chip cookies. First we  cream butter, sugar and vanilla together until light and fluffy. We added egg beating well. So we sift flour and baking powder together and mix into creamed mixture. We rolled heaped teaspoonful of mixture into balls and place on an oven tray. Also we flattened slightly with a floured fork. Bake at 190 c for about 12 minutes or until pale golden. Makes about 35. The recipe is in the edmonds cookery book. Blog you later!

Playing with the Frisbee

Kia ora bloggers. I am going to write about playing  frisbee with my family. I threw the frisbee straight to my sister and brother, also my mum and dad. We played with the frisbee in the back yard. It was a sunny day and it was very hot. The colour  of the frisbee is orange. When Travis threw the frisbee it  hit the washing line. My mum  threw it and it landed on top of the hedge, so my brother got lifted up by my dad and mum standing on there hands.  We also played frisbee at night and my dad got a mozzie bite. The frisbee hurt my hand because Travis threw it hard. I like playing with frisbees because it is my favorite thing to do and I am good at throwing frisbees.

I was excited to have a trampoline because I like jumping high. I felt like I was going to do a front flip. There is a zip on the net and a belt that can keep you safe falling off . The trampoline is blue and black also yellow. It has 6 poles that holds the net up. You have to connect them together. We enjoyed playing on the trampoline.

Playing at the beach.

Hi bloggers.

On a summer day I was at the beach. There was sand and I played on the sand and I made a sand castle. I saw four cocunuts on a tree. When I was playing in the sand I wanted to play in the ocean with buckets. I saw a beach house and I went in it. I went to see a plant and the colour was green. A mountain was at the end of the ocean. The ocean was light blue and dark blue. My feeling was happy. I had fun at the beach. I saw some big waves and I was scared.

Imagine that you could be a superhero for a day. What three superpowers would you most like to have?
On your blog, please list the three superpowers, tell us why you have chosen each one, and tell us what you are going to do with them.

The first super power I would choose is super speed. I chose super speed because it is more faster to save people.

The second super power I would use is super strength . I would climb walls.
